Re: Premier 11A output transformer connection
When i bought my PR11A in 1995, my dealer recommended to have the 8 ohm configuration just because it sounded better according to him. I couldn't verify that myself, so I just had to trust my dealer. At the time I used 4 ohms Maggies, so I was a bit concerned, but it all turned out well. No problems...

Re: Recap
Well, the $2000 price tag was only for the teflon capacitors, I think + shipping.

Re: Recap
Thank you all for your advice. Here is what Jeff wrote to me in september last year: "The audio capacitors in the PREM11 do not degrade over time , but replacing these capacitors with our CJD TEFLON caps will definitely improve the sound quality." The amps were retubed two years ago, but a...

Recap
Hi! My CJ amps (P11a and P8a) are well over 20 years old. The last year or so I've noticed that the amps do not sound as they used to. I suspect that it's time for a recap, but I'm not sure. I e-mailed Jeff at CJ, and his response was that capacitors in CJ amps do not deteriorate over time. But I'm ...

Premier 8 blown fuse
Hi! Can someone tell me what fuses ar used inside the Premier 8? I'm not talking about the fuses that are easily replaced at the back of the amp. I'm talking about the three fuses i can access from the bottom. I have opened the amplifier from the bottom, and there are three fuses. One of them is blo...

Re: Changing of the guards
Thanks, the replacement and cost of the tubes are the reasons why I use the Premier 11a in the summertime. The heat of the Premier 8's makes it to hot inside during summer, so this is a way to extend tube life. The cost of the Premier 8 tube replacement is about $1000, but that includes NOS input tu...

Re: Changing of the guards
Thanks! From left to right: Audiomeca J1 (by Pierre Lurné), Hanss Acoustics T-60 and Thorens TD321. Arm on Audiomeca is SME IV, I am about to get a new arm for the Hanss, probably an Abis SA 1.2. The arm on the Thorens is a Revolver arm. (equivalent of Jelco). Pick-ups I use are Ortofon Cadenza Blac...

Changing of the guards
Hi!
Winter is coming and I need some heat. So I switched from Premier 11A to Premier 8A. That means I get the heat from 16 output tubes instead of four.
Regards
Eirik
