Re: What is phase inversion and what do I do about it?

I always took that to mean that the PV12 is phase inverting regardless of source (including phono stage). Meaning that the phono stage input will still be phase reversed when sent to the amp via the PV12 outputs. Hence, the phono stage by itself is phase correct, but the output from the PV12 will al...

Re: need advice

In that case most likely it's not the tubes. You may have to go through the schematics and try to identify a bad component. At least it's limited to the left channel components so it does narrow it down a bit.

Re: hello from Nashville

Gorgeous setup. I love how you captured the light reflecting off of the front panel of the PV10. Very nice, congrats.

Is that the original platter for the Rega?

Just to clarify, did the hiss change with swapping the tubes?

Re: hello from Nashville

Hello,
Welcome to the site and nice to have you with us. If you have a chance, post some pictures of the setup, I'm sure it's nice. Big fan of Rega (owned one for many years), I think they build some incredible turntables for very reasonable prices.

Re: What DAC are you using with your CJ

None other than the CJ D/A-2b. I really like the sound and it's unlikely to be replaced (unless CJ introduces a new DAC).

I wrote a pretty lengthy review awhile back here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=205

Hi Enrique, Welcome to CJO, it's nice to have you with us. As for your questions: 1) You can find all our schematic files at: http://www.conradjohnsonowners.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=128 2) Not sure what exact parts you are looking for but probably the largest electronic component dealer I know of is...

Re: ET 250S - Modwright LS-100

Hmm, that doesn't make much sense to me. One way I like to think of electronics is that they are small electric heaters. If you really think about the energy consumption, the vast majority is turned into heat (and not actually used for the power output). Also, the 250S should be consuming a fair amo...

Re: ET 250S - Modwright LS-100

This is not specific to the 250S, but temperatures are going to reach maximum/baseline in 15 minutes or under in just about all electronic equipment.

Re: ET 250S - Modwright LS-100

I don't see why it would be a bad match. Quite the contrary, both are tube based equipment so it should give a nice warm sound. Let know what you think of the combo if you decide to pair them up.

That's the kind of room that looks like you walked in one day and walked out 7 weeks later. And I can't blame you, you would have to drag me out of there as well. The CLX's are my holy grail speakers. Awesome setup, congrats roberto.

Be careful with this as you are not grounding the equipment as designed.

Re: PV 9a Break in period after recaping with Claricap capacitor

Beautiful picture btw. Those caps look great. As for your question about cap burnin times. I think this is one of those things that you ask 5 people and get 5 different answers. Some don't believe in it and I've also heard many say it takes 200 hours. I think at 50 hours it should be "settling in".

Re: Used premier 140

First, welcome to the site. It's great to have you. The premier 140 should have not problem driving your 801's. The 801's are not the most efficient speakers but they aren't that inefficient that they would require a crazy amount of power. Even at high volumes you should be ok. I would have no reser...

Re: Help and Embarrassment or Riches to Rags in seconds

Sorry to hear about this event jahatl513. I agree with roberto, that is probably what happened when it was unplugged and replugged. I think this is one of those hard lessons we all eventually learn about having everything off when we are working on (or near) our systems. Hopefully, it won't be too e...

Re: Classic 60se Speaker recommendations

As a long time user of Martin Logan speakers I 2nd roberto's recommendation. Their hybrid design really gives a nice balanced low end for those craving the detail of planar speakers but not wanting to sacrifice lower frequencies.
