Channel Imbalance, CT5 easy fix

It's been a while since I've listened to the 3.7 system but I got a remastered Leon Russell CD and wanted to hear how it did with ribbons. Did good except for I looked up and the channel balance was off. What the heck? I go to adjust it and one side goes to 0. Hunka junk, sure glad I kept my Sonic F...

Re: AXpona 2023

Here is the latest on the tower of woofers: It's in production engineering as we speak, so I'd say not long -- certainly by AXPONA next year, when Wendell Diller expects to show the full spouse-friendly system (12" panels and the woofer -- the combo that was shown as a rough prototype in their ...

Re: AXpona 2023

A friend of mine has been assisting in the development of Magnepan's tower of subwoofers, this has been in the works for quite some time.
Like years.
One thing I've noticed is NOBODY will mention an actual dollar figure or an actual ETA.

Re: Audio Research filing

I would think the other tube gear companies may be in similar straits.
ARC is one of the great audio companies, I hope they can get it worked out.

The good thing about tube gear is if they keep the designs simple enough it can always be repaired.

admin wrote: Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:46 pm As for bugs, I just keep the face shield down. Then when I get home I clean everything off water a damp cloth.
I've had a spider in the helmet, a bee in the jacket but the worst was a stinkbug splatting on the faceshield.
There is NO getting away from the smell, visor up, visor down, same thing!

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

Speaking of windshields, a Laminar Lip showed up for the GT.
This is a good addition - good wind protection and it cuts way down on the wind roar in the helmet.

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

The car drivers haven't gotten any better over the Winter! Everybody, cut off the motorcycle... They probably won't improve any over the next few months, either. Flying ants are boiling out of the ground so today I ditched the Cee Bailey PopeCycle windshield and stuck on the smaller Palmer Products ...

More Magna Risers

I finally broke down and ordered a set for the upstairs 1.7 system. You wouldn't think such a small item would have such a large (positive) impact on the sound but they really do. Greater bass output and they seem to just firm up the sound (if that makes any sense). Pardon the clutter and general sl...

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

Beautiful guitars! The closest I have to a jazzbox is an ES-137 Custom. https://i.imgur.com/4VXKNAu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OjscRRy.jpg Found a nail in the Sir Costalot's rear tire so decided to freeze myself on the Crunched RS. https://i.imgur.com/49RCoH1.jpg Only had one 120 year old guy in a car ...

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

I found some really good leather care products for bringing scuffed/faded leathers back to life: https://www.montanaleather.com/product/leather-refinish-color-restorer-2/?fbclid=IwAR1BCLx_5mrb5sZ5GPZKnIH-KIw3_hh1b4Xaks_T42v4PiSUXx2agkVQZGs This works well on Fox Creek leathers: https://www.montanale...

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

Leathers still fit despite my best efforts to stuff my fat little face. First ride of the year, snow on Friday, 50 degrees and the kind of wind that has garbage cans blowing around in the road. The Pope Cycle is really dirty, petrified bug guts and a cat got in the garage and was walking on it. Nobo...

Re: Is CJ still in business?

I bought a preamp that the factory had worked on, I wrote to them and gave them all the information I had and asked what the parts replaced were. Oh no, we can't tell you that! I had to come here to get the answer. I ordered 4 fuses from C-J, it took around 2 weeks to get them and they were $7 each ...

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

When I was a kid with an 850 Commando I used to be friends with a guy who had an Interceptor.
I never rode it but he said he really liked it.
I know I did.
Even back then (1977, 1978) they were a rarity.

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

When I had them I believe I put something like 200,000 miles on Guzzis. I had water get into an ignition switch so hot wired that somewhere in NC, improperly heat treated pushrods which blew a carb off and two pushrods came out looking like spaghetti, some weird intermittent electrical gremlin on a ...

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

$15,500 isn't out of line. Triumph's got some of their models at around $22000 which is ridiculous. The first thing I'd do is chuck the exhaust from the cross-over (cataytic converter?) back, add a center stand and lower handlebars. I wonder if Verlicchi still makes swan neck clip ons and if they'd ...

A fellow in England just showed one that he bought with the price tag on it.
Figure $20,000 here in the US, give or take.

Re: Anyone else interested in motorcycles?

There's a fellow riding around Spain on the new Guzzi V100 and somebody asked about a comparison to his previous Griso. He said it's taller, lighter, handles much better and less vibration. I wrote to him a few minutes ago to see if it's got that pride of ownership, forever keeper bike feel to it. M...
