PV-10B: What Alps Volume Potentiometer?

I'm considering replacing the volume potentiometer in a PV-10B. Can anyone please confirm exactly which Alps potentiometer C-J used in the PV-10B? Looks like the exact same potentiometer used in my CAV-50. It's an Alps RK27. Blue body. Six pins (no loudness contour or center tap). Log taper. 50K ste...

SOLD - For Sale: PV-12A with phono

Hello, All: I'm selling my long beloved PV-12A preamp. I bought it in the early 2000s as a PV-12 and had it upgrade by C-J to an "A", then used it for a long and wonderful time. I feel the PV-12A is one of the best of the PV-series preamps. Right now it's finishing up a thorough service ch...

For Sale: Conrad-Johnson MV-75. Special Example.

Hello, All: I'm selling my nearly pristine classic Conrad-Johnson MV-75 vacuum tube amplifier. I bought it new around 1980, had it updated by C-J to the MV-75A-1 specification, then later had it updated further by its co-designer, C-J employee #3, 20 year technical director, and good guy Bill Thalma...

Re: An Old-Timer, I Suppose

Thanks for the welcomes. Agreed on the PV-12. I feel it's one of the best of the PV-series preamps. Thanks Jeffrey for the tip. Just had to join!

An Old-Timer, I Suppose

I don't consider myself old, but I bought a PV-1, then a PV-2, and an MV-75 when they were new. When C-J was a new and upstart company making new TUBED products. The "new" C-J amps and preamps were a bit of the rage. I've had much other C-J gear, it's tended to be my primary go-to stuff, a...

Re: Conrad Johnson PV-12 Preamp

I have a PV-12A. Had it for more than 10 years. I feel, that at least right out of the box, it's one of the very best of PV series C-J preamps. Mine started as a PV-12 and I had it updated to an "A", and it was fitted with the phono stage from new. It's a pretty early one, dating back to '...

Re: CJ MV75 "update circuit drawing"

I bought an MV-75 as a kid. It was my first "real" piece of audio gear, and C-J was a new, fledgling company. An upstart. And doing TUBES! I remember the MV-75 was all the rage. I still have that amplifier, though I had it updated to an A-1 by the factory, then took a little further by it'...
