Re: Anyone running CJ pre with non-CJ SS amp?

A fellow CJ GAT owner...congrats! I used to have PV14 and then the ACT2. CJ GAT is my favorite preamp of any manufacturer, and i've not been without CJ in my system in 12 straight years. Sounds like we've got a similar pre/amp setup. I run the GAT with SS Class A amp from Gryphon. I run old Wilson X...

Anyone running CJ pre with non-CJ SS amp?

Just curious how people are using their CJ pres. i used to have CJ pre with CJ tube amp...but have since moved to SS Class A which i prefer. Always good to hear other people's experiences about what works!

Re: Isolation for CJ Equipment?

Good luck. I think HRS is excellent and probably my favorite all around isolation/rack manufacturer. I have not heard a lot, but HRS stands out for me.

Re: Isolation for CJ Equipment?

Agree...it also depends on the equipment. I found my CJ GAT definitely benefits from having a damper on top...and a few have said it benefits from some form of absorption underneath...A10U8s or HRS Nimbus Couplers/Footers. My tube DAC is even more sensitive...that things has HRS stuff below and on t...

Re: Isolation for CJ Equipment?

Interesting...i have only done HRS damping plates, nimbus/couplers, Finite Elemente Resonance plates (dont work well imho), and ARtesania damping plates...which work really well. I also think EAT Tube dampers are incredible. My rack is 4" thick shelving of birch ply, laid on top of 1" slab...

Isolation for CJ Equipment?

Hi...I have used HRS damping plates to good effect with my CJ preamp...and am currently testing out Artesania damping plate which was new to our local dealer. Also excellent. I have heard putting some kind of isolation under the CJ preamps is also a great improvement. Anyone else try this? I have no...

Re: CJ Evolution 2000 Amplifier Review

I would suggest speaking with Ed...i honestly have no idea...except i know people who have upgraded their Premier 8s! Over 20 years old...but transformed with the Teflon capacitors (among other things apparently) which CJ uses throughout their products now. Worth a try!

Re: CJ Evolution 2000 Amplifier Review

Thanks for that...i've heard very good things about this amp. Bit of a legend actually. I have spoken with CJ owners who've taken 'vintage' stuff and had it upgraded with latest CJ Teflon capacitors, etc...to great effect. Have you ever considered doing this? Just curious. What tubes do these run? E...

Hello!

Great website so far! Early but promising! Owned CJ equipment since 2000 consecutively. PV14L, MV60, ACT2 and now GAT. I run the GAT with big, pure Class A SS amp. imho, the 'best of both worlds' (for me anyway). I have asked Marc Michelson of The Audio Beat to see if they might do a shoot-out betwe...

Re: Hello from Costa Rica...and a ET-5 preamplifier.

Hey guys...just saw this website link in another forum...Whats Best Forum. I've owned CJ pre and/or amps consecutively since 2000. Currently run CJ GAT and really enjoy it...my favorite preamp. I have heard Tidal, ARC Ref 5 & 5SE, Krell Evo 2, Shindo Massetto...and asked dealers who sold Shindo ...
