Re: Home Theater Room with CJ preamp and amp.

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
So far I've played with: http://imageshack.us/a/img577/2369/mytubes.jpg Sylvania 6135, GE 6C4WA, GE6C4 Sylvania seems to have no microphonics or hiss and actually sounds pretty darn good. GE 6C4WA is the most resistant to microphonics (even popping slightly with fingernail gives not much of audible ...

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
Just received two m8080 from CJ!!!! Haven't had a chance to check them yet. I don't think I'll be buying warranty from CJ. It's solid piece of gear and I belive once sorted should last long time. Jeffrey: I followed your sugestion about buying a bunch of 6135 and I have a couple of Sylvania comming....

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
Thank You jeffreybehr for you intervention. I kinda have a feeling it wouldn't go anywhere without your help. Thank You admin for your support. Indeed, Lew replied to my email the day Jeffrey said he would. Lew explained me a couple of important facts related to purchase of MET1 from HighPerformance...

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
It has been about two weeks and still have no reply from dealer. He keeps ignoring my microphonic and hissing tubes problem. About a week ago I emailed CJ customer service and they also ignored me completely.....(I even CC Lew Johnson) As of now I have two microphonic tubes and one hissing. It's som...

Re: CJ MET1 m-channel Martin Logan system
Finally, over the weekend I forced myself to grab soldering iron and do some XLR>RCA connectors to be able to use my long time forgotten Behringer DEQ2496 to EQ both subs. Here are the results before and after EQ. Most of the problem was concentrated in 40Hz region. The results are quite pleasing. F...

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
Thank You all for answers, jeffreybehr: The tube layout info you provided above is very helpful, as I was only able to find out where fronts, rears and SW C pairs are without knowing which is L or R. The dealer, who came to my house only replaced the unit and just installed "old" tubes in ...

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
Just got the unit replaced (delivered in person by dealer - kudos to Steve from highperformancestereo). The old problems are gone now but new and luckily much smaller issues arisen. I believe, I have one microphonic tube, which sound like this faint ringing while playing some notes. The other proble...

Re: CJ MET1 m-channel Martin Logan system
It's problematic room (which one isn't? :-). It's located in the basement and dimensions are 18x14x7. Thanks to Summit ability to adjust sub 25Hz and 50Hz I managed (with some help of great RoomEQWizard) to make somewhat listener friendly room. Somewhat.....bass traps in front L&R corners helped...

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
I'm working things out with the dealer. Most likely preamp will be replaced with a new one.
As of now I'm enjoying preamp but only with 5 channels. I had to forget about using FL out. For now I have to live without subs. No problem.

CJ MET1 m-channel Martin Logan system
My new listening/HT room. Finally after long construction process is almost ready. Exceptions are bass traps, which are still under construction. Not too long ago I added Conrad Johnson MET1, which gave a new life to my multichannel system. My system: M-channel: - Conrad Johnson MET1 preamp - Martin...

Re: Another MET1 on the forum - problems
Thanks Mr. Admin :-) It's indeed a great unit. Even after first few hours of burning-in it showed significant progression in every possible aspect of sound quality over my previous m-channel preamp (Marantz AV8003). For me it also sounds like cold solder joint somewhere on the board, however the pre...

Another MET1 on the forum - NO problems
Yesterday I received brand new CJ MET1 and started experiencing this particular distortion/popping/artifact. It happens whenever there is a vibration. Even the smallest amount of vibrations can induce this somewhat vile popping sound out of FL channel. Gently tapping the unit with finger or lower no...

Hello, Just took a bite and ordered my first Conrad Johnson product: MET1. Unit showed up yesterday. Brand new and very, very pretty looking. My system consist of full 5.1 Martin Logan setup and I just wanted to cure some of digitalisis disease, which I suspected my system may have. I think I succed...
