Site with CJ schematics

I found this site with a listing of CJ schematics. It's not all the models but a fair number. If your having an issue with your device or just interested in the schematics it's probably worth a look: http://www.analogstereo.com/conrad_john ... anuals.htm

Re: What have you been watching?

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island on Blu-ray. Pretty bad movie. Definitely a rental and not a buy. Some of it was ok but then there were some really crazy moments like the bee flying sequences which just kind of ruined the thing.

Re: Hi From Australia

Welcome Scumurculum from "down under."! I also use martin logan speakers with my CJ preamp and amp. I have a pair of Vantages and they really complement the CJ sound. I am surprised by how many CJ owners use martin logan speakers. I saw the HD3 on the official CJ website. It's one of their...

Jolida JD9 phono preamp review

Jolida JD9 phono preamp This tube based phono preamp is a true bargain in the audiophile world. At under $500 it really performs well compared to even more expensive models. However, the true benefit is the ability to mod this unit rather easily and turn it into a top performer that rivals phono pr...

Re: What have you been watching?

Just got finished watching Casablanca #73A (1942) [CC1287L]. Nice Criterion disk. Quality was actually better than expected. I had never seen this classic film and it was about time.

Love the Laserdiscs!

Home Theater design and build

These were the preliminary 3D mock-ups of the room that I did in Google SketchUp. I first measured out the rooms and then started playing with different decoration patterns, paint color, floor style, etc. I was able to download speaker, audio equipment, and other more detailed models (like the windo...

CJ Evolution 2000 Amplifier Review

Evolution 2000 Zero Feedback Power Amplifier So I use this bad boy to power my Martin Logan Vantage speakers. Electrostatic speakers are notoriously hard to drive due to their wild swings in resistance but the 2000 has no problem handling them. They're rated at 200 watts in 8 ohms and I have no dou...

Re: DIY RCA interconnect cable (w/ instructions)

Nice tutorial. I wish I saw this before I bought my RCA with locking plug from Calabrine. It is not too expensive and they look good too. But I think DIY really give self satisfaction knowing its quality and build. I completely agree with you. It's truly a pleasure to listen to your audio system an...

Re: My Conrad Johnson Martlogan system

It is indeed very impressive. I would love to get some custom racks. I use two standard racks which serve their purpose but certainly "aren't very" impressive. I bought two of them so they would match and I needed a lot of shelves for components.

I love the clean and typical CJ look of the classic. It really is appropriately named. Simple, elegant, and functional.

Very cool. May I ask what kind of component stand you are using on the left side with the CJ equipment? Looks very nice (and expensive)!

Re: Hello from Indiana

Welcome Poogie!
I have read quite a bit about some quality high end audio starting to come from China. Thanks for the picture in the other forum, it's nice to see other people's setups! What kind of "upgrade" were you thinking about when referring to the CJ?

What have you been watching?

Act of Valor (2012) on Blu-ray

Overall not bad, actually better than I thought it would be. I especially liked the part where the soldiers fire on the truck with the boat mounted miniguns!

I like the back lighting through the monolith panels. What do you have in the rack on the right side of the TV?

Re: Hello from Costa Rica...and a ET-5 preamplifier.

Beyond the fact that CJ equipment sound so great is the excellent quality and service that is associated with these products. As I posted here http://www.conradjohnsonowners.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=14 when I had a tube go bad in my PV-12, the support that these quality products have are unparal...

Wow! That is a beautiful pieces of art. Look at those huge monoliths, they must sound glorious. I have martin logan vantages but they are "tiny" in comparison to those!

Re: Hello from Costa Rica.

I think you nailed it right on the head with the "neutrality" of CJ equipment. It really presents a "pure" sound that is simply pleasing to the ear. In today's world of modern (crappy) electronics when every fancy setting on that sony is "vivid", "rock", "...

Welcome from Costa Rica!! Wow, since '82! You certainly have a great history of experience with CJ. The ET-5 looks awesome. If you have time maybe you can do a little formal review of it in the http://www.conradjohnsonowners.com/viewforum.php?f=10 "Preamp section" of the site? I'm using th...
