Re: DIY 3.5mm to RCA stereo cable
Both ends are grounded if that is what you are referring to. The single wires going into the RCA plugs actually have two internal wires inside.

All's well that ends well. Not sure if I would do anything further at this point unless another issue presented itself.

Re: MV60SE does not have Teflon or Vishay
I can see the SE edition being advantageous with less sensitive speakers. Sometimes a little extra can make a big difference when approaching the clipping threshold. But I wouldn't make a big deal between the two versions.

I suppose the question would be is what was the price difference between the two models?

Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500 vs MF2275
Oh boy. This was my mistake. My brain completely read the MF2275 as MF2250. I think I'm still jet lagged from earlier this week! In light of this new realization, if you don't need more than 135 watts per channel, I would go with the MF2275 over he older MF2500. Unless you have very insensitive spea...

Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500 vs MF2275
The two units are essentially as close as you are going to get in the CJ line beyond the obvious difference of power output. They are a same generation release in the CJ line. So if you are ok with the 120 watts per channel of the 2275 I really don't see a downside.

Re: Anyone experience of Solen FEP Tin/PTFE caps?
Whatever you use, make sure that the caps are the same type for each channel. Beyond that, I don't have any experience with the ODAM V-Caps. I've used Solen caps in my equipment and I can vouch for those.

Re: The Martin Logan CLX's, a true work of Art!
Cable prices can get astronomical these days. I think have some good solid performing options without having to take out a 2nd mortgage is a plus.

Welcome, great to have you with us. Love the classic CJ gear. I owned the PV-12 but you've got the magic one with the phono stage is is exceptional. That's definitely a keeper. As RJ says, most of us fall in love with the CJ sound so when we do upgrade, we are looking at CJ offerings. Enjoy the tunes!

Re: PV-12 help needed
First, welcome to CJO. Nice to have you with us. I personally owned a PV12 for a good number of years. It's really a great preamp. I think you would really enjoy it if you can get it working well. As for your unit specifically. It's hard to tell exactly what is going on. You can get single channel i...

Re: Recent Website Reliability Problems
Good news. I think my latest efforts worked. I don't want to jinx it, but looking at the server logs from yesterday the total bandwidth used yesterday was about 1/30th of the day before. I didn't encounter any errors yesterday despite logging on multiple times. So hopefully that solved the problem....

Very sad to hear. Truly one of the few that changed the audiophile world. I've been rocking the Maggie 20.1's for many years and am still in love with the unique sound. Glad to know that the company continues and carries on Jim's legacy.

Re: Recent Website Reliability Problems
Thank you for the update. I was trying to do some investigation and there was a massive increase in bandwidth usage of the site around Christmas day. There was also a day where the hosting servers did go down (not just my site but I think a large portion of their hosting), but that was for like half...

Re: New Member Presentation
H Lanchile, Welcome to the site. Great to have you with us. Hey, my introduction to CJ was also a PF2. It was a very similar situation where it kind of opened my eyes to the difference between high end audio vs what you get off the shelf at your local big box electronic store. So congrats on the dis...

Re: Anyone experience of Solen FEP Tin/PTFE caps?
Ouch, that is expensive. Don't know what to tell you? The ones in there may last a lifetime and give excellent sound quality, or they can start to fail in the near future and then you'll kick yourself for not replacing them now. I can see going either way on this.
