Anyone here on the CJO forum move from KT150 output tubes back to >> KT120s << for any reason? If so, why?
Background: Okay, so circuit design, transformers, plate voltage may have something to do with this too.., yet would like to ask anyhow for those with first hand experience with CJ amps. I read over some older posts from 2015, 2016 where KT150s were still new at the time, and some member here and other CJ owners felt the KT120 was still a more preferred tone and presentation, maybe less modern tube sounding. Also, understand since this time CJ has come out with new amps designed more specifically for running KT150s. Maybe this has altered opinions the past few years, so checking in again with CJ owners here too, fwiw. I run KT150s myself in different brand amps, and was wondering if anyone here in CJ world would be willing share your own updates if you changed back to KT120s for any reason, and why. What are you hearing, differently? Thanks in advance for your replies.
