Great advice admin...I use an IC desoldering gun, it works right for the shrinking sleeves. Great tool too.

I dunno … this “repair” almost seems like a troll. I am reminded of the “roach” concept.

It is nice that the OP says it works. That’s a positive. I still think that a new one would be more satisfying… but to each his own.

Oh no! I didn't leave it dangling like that :). I actually glued the resonator to the board safely and away from points of potential contact.

The original location board plating was damaged (got ripped off together with resonator) so I had to find another location to tap in.

All in all, It continues working fine.
