Recording Engineer meets Stereo System at Upscale

Post by AnotherJohnson »

In last Saturday’s Upscale Audio Newsletter the first article about some guys who work in the music industry who were invited to audition a home stereo system at Upscale.

They discuss their impressions and end up making a lot of points that I have also made over the years.

I hope it will give them impetus to mix their albums with less dynamic range compression.

I share the sentiment.

The problem is that the compression is intentional because of the Alexa and ear bud habits of such a large segment of the market.

At least these fellows are now aware of what their process sounds like when played on a solid mid fi home system. That is a start.
