Nice review with much love shown. Interesting encouragement to get ECC88s instead of the stock PC88s.

Nice that the ART88 got back to tubes instead of the hybrid FET preamps of recent years, but the hybrids have also sounded really nice.

In spring of 2022 I was having some issues with my CJ gear and I called JF. He diagnosed the problem as some recently installed 6922s having failed prematurely. I asked what he would recommend, and he told me that he had some ECC88s that he thought were really good. They were $120 each.

I was a good sport and bought three because he’d helped me troubleshoot over the phone. But I did not take these out of the shipping package when they arrived. They’re on my shelf and the invoice is dated 5/22/22. Instead I used three 6922s that I had on hand as spares.

So I still have these three ECC88s that JF identified as really good.

If anyone wants them, shoot me a PM. I would let the three of them go for $250 shipped to any of the 48 contiguous states. PP F&F, or cleared check. Insured shipping with tracking.

They could be used as drivers in many CJ tube amps, or as triodes in many CJ tube preamps. If you don’t want all three, it’s $100 for one, $180 for two, and $250 for three.

When I bought my 16LS2 from a couple in Hollywood Hills (what a frickin' house and stereo they had) it came with 6922 tubes labelled Made in Slovakia. They were excellent.
