Re: Bias LED. When is it too much? CJ MV125

Yes, that pretty much sums it up! The MV125 has plenty of power to drive the SF Extrema's, no issues. And you've correctly biased the Output tubes as recommended, so really nothing more you can do there. With the bias circuits, what's taking place is you're adding just the right amount of idle ...

Re: New CJ ART88 Preamp

Ah, nice one mate. That's interesting to know that they changed the 6922's to the EH brand. In fact, I've come across the noisy bit on EH but then again perhaps it wasn't a great batch... don't know. Over the years though, I did find that the GGL's 6922's had a sort of fuller sound and well defined ...

Re: Tube rolling for Art 27a

Speaking of Class A output stages, I do remember once few years ago, home trialled the Kondo Overture integrated amplifier. It was a pure Class A design but based on EL34's and it handled my previous Quad ESL 2905's flawlessly. It was supremely fine. So I'm thinking those types of tubes could well ...

Re: Tube rolling for Art 27a

Personally, if I were the owner of any of CJ's latest ART series amplifiers, I would not tube roll. It defeats the purpose of this particular series. This is CJ's top of the line, and after JF took over, these are his designs based on Class A circuits. Therefore, the tubes that JF has finalised on ...

Re: Greetings from Western Norway

Oh! I can see clearly now. After many decades of no specs... only now started to use glasses. Hot damn! I can see very easily now, and my ear-sight is even better. Ha! BTW, just noticed the Manley Labs preamp. With CJ & Manley, the tunes are fine! Also, that black fluffy thingy rolling on your ...

Re: Tor Sivertsen - still with us?

Ah! Nice one mate. Back then that was definitely one real tops team in the world of highend tube gear; C & J, Ed, Tor and the country reps. Such a fantastic opportunity to work with these legends! And that's what basically drove the brand, not only the special sound. Now, this group of highly ...

Greetings from Down Unda and welcome to CJO. Exactly what AJ said... I think. Oh! Nice one with the Prem350 amplifiers, since they're different colours, easy to recognise between L & R ! That must be some very loud and proud tunes... Premier 350's driving Horn type speakers, look out Charlie ...

Re: New member from Canada

G'day mate, greetings from Down Unda. ART27A, beautiful piece of machinery, a fine musical instrument. Precision with finesse! The last time I was thinking about putting together the right type of speakers with the ART27A were based on high efficiency designs. Was considering the AG Duo XD's (Horns ...

Careful what you wish for 😁

Sometimes when the wish/s are granted by the genie... it turns out too overwhelming. Then we wish that we didn't wish for it in the first place! Ah! In which case then why make that wish... and life goes on.

The tunes are fine matey!

Nice one matey, and a warm tooob welcome to CJO! Gotta love tooobs, can't tolerate their nonsense and yet I can't live without them. Oh! For the love of tubes. Hopefully you're able to sort things out referring to the schematic, otherwise any access to a skilled techie should fix the problem. The ...

That, only you can determine mate, no one else. Apart from all the various combinations of TT rigs and their set-ups with carts, arms, plinths, motors, switches, belts, drive units, power supplies, isolation modules etc... This kind of activity can seem endless to the point where you actually do ...

Re: LP12 and Clearaudio Master Reference

Haaa! good one matey... goood one. Dartzeel mmm... was very tempted at one point but decided no. That was a very wise decision on my part after consulting with a few others who were at least honest. We don't have a Dartzeel importer here any more. They shut down, and hence no service centre either ...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

Nice one matey, good to see another great pre-power match up. The PFR is a nice preamp, SS in nature but with a warm sound, not harsh at all. Don't forget, must be left on standby to reach optimal performance. It doesn't have any power switch as such, so when plugged into AC mains, it's ready to go ...

Yep, that Classe' amp is definitely no where in the making today. In fact, as I was just learning about Classe' on another ...

Ah yes! It's the Virtuo Next Nespresso machine that I have. Also uses the entire Virtuo range, such that this baby can accept upto four different Pod sizes and makes upto 7 different cup sizes. From 40ml to 535ml, which is a jug! Oh yeah... if I drank the jug, I'd be bouncing off the walls! Just ...

Yep, roger that captain, 10-4 to Joe mate! Over. Since both units Invert Phase, the total number of phase inversions is even (2). If it was an Odd number... only then you need to swap things around in order to make it an Even number. I actually forgot that the Premier 350 did Invert phase. Just ...
